I love adding personal touches to items in our home because I think it makes guests feel more welcome. I want people to feel like they can kick up their feet, help themselves to a drink, or stare at the embarrassing photos on our refrigerator without feeling uncomfortable.
I found these tiles at a thrift store, but you can also find them at any local hardware store.
I was getting tired of our boring, silver coasters and decided to try making some of my own. We host a lot of game nights and impromptu dance parties, so having a lot of coasters on hand is important - even if I forget to use them half the time.

1. Print desired images onto tissue paper. I printed mine off of this site.
2. Cut tissue paper down to tile size.
3. Apply a layer of ModPodge and paste photo on. Let dry completely!
4. Apply a second layer of ModPodge and let dry completely.
5. Seal with 2-3 coats of acrylic clear coat, which makes the tile water-resistant.
6. Add felt corners to the bottom.
7. Make a drink.
I also made a second, more colorful set for a friend who just moved into a new apartment.
