Let a Sister Relax!

It wasn't until we stopped sharing a bunk bed and went away to college that I discovered how much I love and admire my older sister, Amy. Now I'm proud to call her one of my best friends.

She's currently raising two children and rarely has time to herself to relax, so I wanted to make her a birthday gift that gave her a bit of just that. I figured a calming eye pillow would be an easy thing for her to toss on her face sometime between bath-time, nap-time, dinner-time, and time-outs.

1. Cut fabric to desired size (will need 2 pieces of equal size).
2. Put right sides of fabric together.
3. Sew pieces together (on machine or by hand).
4. Sew until there is about a 2" gap left open.
5. Flip right-side out.
6. Mix rice and lavender together (I did a 3:1 ratio).
7. Funnel rice/lavender mix into 2" gap.
8. Sew the gap.

The mask can be cooled in the freezer (put in ziploc bag first) or warmed in the microwave (30 seconds).

She loves elephants, so I spray-painted a toy figurine and adhered it to a mason jar which I filled with goodies. A touch of jute & personalized notes are touches that make a gift much more special to open.
