Take 5 - Pleated Orange Skater Skirt

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 | 8:14 PM

2013 is still favouring lots of bold colour and although many people claim not to be able to wear orange (or vibrant tangerine like this skirt); I'm here to say you're wrong.  The key trick with any colour that isn't flattering to your complexion is to either wear a little bit of it in an accessory, or avoid putting it near your face.  Hence I think anyone can try any seasonal colour and coloured bottoms are good for everyone!

I find the high waist of this Dorothy Perkins skirt really flattering as it shows off my slim mid line while hiding my hips/thighs - the third/third/third proportions of each outfit feel balanced to me.  Pleats really help a skirt fall well and somehow this cotton drill fabric never needs ironing.

I've worn it with blackgrey and white so far but when I got into this challenge I couldn't believe how versatile it was.  Of course as we move into colder months I'll be adding boots and tights and having fun with a bit more layering.  Linking up today with the beautiful Rolled Up Pretty and the Pleated Poppy!

#1 Orange skirt dressy

#2 - Orange skirt for everyday (my favourite look)

 #3 - Orange skirt edgy

#4 - Orange skirt feminine

#5 - Orange skirt for beach wear (love the tonal flow!)

And the final picture.... well I'm off to the beach now!  Love to hear your favourite look?  How would you style this skirt?
