Thrifted top, Gap jeans (on sale!), Target hat, Cheerfully Charmed bracelet c/o, Fossil flats, Francesca's bag
You see that little version of me with the chlorine-stained hair? I thrifted that floral romper. That's right, I was thrifting before it was cool, before the word 'thrifting' even started being used (my mom, sister and I referred to it as 'junking' back in the 90s).
I remember my friends would sometimes ask me where I bought something and I'd lie saying it was my sister's or that I got it at the mall. This was a risky answer, and my heart pounded each time worrying that it was something they'd donated. It wasn't until I got to college that I was comfortable admitting I thrifted, and by that time hipsters were invented so I fit right in.
